Anieza
Anieza is a mother of four and the author of the mystical novel The Explosion, her debut.
Her writing grows out of a lifelong search for meaning. She studies the world’s religious traditions and philosophical teachings, and her fiction draws on the Qur’an, the Old Testament, the Book of Revelation, Sufi wisdom, and The Power of the Alphabet, woven together with her own imagination and personal experience. The result is a layered world where human destinies intertwine with higher powers, and where the line between reality and the unseen begins to blur.
The story arrived all at once. A whole world, alive with characters, came to her suddenly and took shape in just two months, as though it were eager to be told.
At the heart of her work are the questions that have followed humanity through the ages: the struggle between light and darkness, faith and doubt, and the cost of every choice. Above all, she writes about the power of a mother’s love, which she sees as one of the deepest spiritual forces in the world, and about the importance of protecting the inner lives of children.
